Use of solvents in Tunisia :
» This research aims at:
Making a diagnosis of the present state of the conditions for using solvents and suggesting a technical, medical and legal prevention programme.
This project will also enable the TOSHI's industrial toxicology laboratory to be developed.
Specific objectives are:
Inventorying the solvents used in Tunisia (monograph on solvents)
Assessing the levels at which workers are exposed to solvents
Estimating the prevalence of haematological and renal neuropsychiatric troubles disorders for workers exposed to solvents.
Lasted of realization: 3 years.

Evaluation of the use of pesticides: Management and effects on health
This research aims at :
Making a list of pesticides used in Tunisia (to be periodically updated)
Estimating the prevalence of occupational poisoning by pesticides
Assessing the level of knowledge and perception of occupational risk among users of pesticides
Identifying training-information needs for everyone involved

A diagnosis of the situation of pesticide poisoning through the emergency services
Suggesting recommendations on medical and technical prevention during any contact with pesticides
Mastering new techniques of toxicological screening by the laboratory.
